Project submission guidelines
If you would like The Footprints Network to fund your project please read the following submission guidelines carefully.
General guidelines
The Footprints Network looks to work with charities/NGO's/individuals who can provide opportunities for long term partnerships and multiple projects. We seek to establish an understanding and relationship between the organisations before discussions about specific projects are entered into.
All projects we fund should primarily help meet at least one of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals that aim to end poverty and shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path:
- No poverty
- Zero hunger
- Good health and well-being
- Quality education
- Gender equality
- Clean water and sanitation
- Affordable and clean energy
- Decent work and economic growth
- Industry, innovation and infrastructure
- Reduced inequalities
- Sustainable cities and communities
- Responsible consumption and production
- Climate action
- Life below water
- Life on land
- Peace, justice and strong institutions
- Partnerships for the goals
Additionally, projects should adhere to the following:
- be separately identifiable and tangible
- be tied to a specific location
- achieve sustainable development gains in the local communities
- work with the local communities
- have minimal administration costs (10% or less)
- have a specific budget and be able to show the breakdown of costs
- supply progress and final reports including photographs
We don't accept project proposals for:
- Research projects
- Emergency relief
- Advocacy causes
- Individual sponsorships
- Cultural development projects
Budgets
The Footprints Network funds projects with budgets anywhere from $100 to $40,000.
- We generally only offer funding to projects run by registered charities or NGOs.
- Footprints requires receipts for funds disbursed
- The project budget can be in any currency
- A detailed cost breakdown is required as part of the application, clearly showing administration elements
- Funds are distributed within 60 days after a project has been fully funded.
Funding deadlines
It is best if your project doesn't have a very specific fundraising deadline since projects are funded as quickly or as slowly as people donate to them. Based on our experience we can estimate how long funding might take and try to ensure timeliness but we make no guarantees.
Project completion reports
A condition of funding is that the project coordinator is required to provide both a written and photographic summary on completion of the project. Sufficient detail is required to enable The Footprints Network to provide a report on the success of the project to the people who funded it.
How to apply
Unfortunately, Footprints is not currently accepting any new project partner applications.
We have made commitments to our current partners and wish to ensure
that the relationships remain effective by adequately funding current
projects and not spreading grants too thinly.
If you are a charity/NGO and wish to get in touch, please send us an email.
